Oil press

One of the basic components of the Olive Society, it was installed in the village of Kafr Arouq. It was used in the previous season, when an amount of olives was pressed during the previous season, estimated at approximately 416 tons. The provision of the same service will be announced in the current season for all farmers of the region, according to what will be issued when the start of the season. 2024 olive pressing season

analysis laboratory Oil

One of the components of the Olive Growers Association, it is a qualitative laboratory considered the first of its kind to examine the quality of the oil and issue official certificates of analysis that include the seven most important analyzes that express the quality of the oil. Analyzes have been completed for approximately 500 samples to date

Exercises

Specific theoretical and practical training was provided to olive farmers in the towns of Killi and Kafr Arouq by the Watan System within the Return to Homeland project. Which was based on farmers’ needs and need assessments. The technical team in the Watan system, with technical support from the University of Idlib and with the participation of students from the College of Agricultural Engineering, began organizing field days to apply the theoretical knowledge provided to farmers in a practical way

Field days

A comprehensive program of field days was coordinated with farmers, academics, students of the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering, association farmers and other non-member farmers in order to establish a series of field days within the olive farmers’ field schools

Field visits

Continuous and ongoing technical support, accompanied by the life cycle of the olive crop, is provided by the Watan System team and in partnership with technicians from the Acadia Association, providing the best guidance and best advice to farmers to overcome any pests or disease symptoms that may affect the crop negatively in quantity and quality, in order to make better use of it.
